Always Been Close
It's Prom night, the most magical night for many teens. Jenny (Kuleana) is excited as she waits with her boyfriend, Brandon, while a photographer gets ready to capture some memorable shots before they head out. But it's obvious that there's trouble in paradise between the young couple. It's even more evident when Jenny's stepbrother, Ryan (Jay Romero), soon joins them for the pictures and Jenny instantly lights up. The photographer gets to work and it's easy to see how sweet Jenny and Ryan are together. They're so natural and close that the photographer accidentally mistakes them as being a couple! Jenny and Ryan both awkwardly laugh it off but, in the back of their minds, the photographer's words have stirred something... When the trio later return after the Prom, the atmosphere is a tense one. Since it's Prom night, Brandon gets a bit handsy with Jenny, obviously wanting more than she's willing to offer. Suddenly, Ryan's intense protectiveness for his stepsister kicks in and, before he knows it, he delivers a solid punch that nearly knocks Brandon senseless. Although she's shocked, Jenny doesn't hesitate to follow after Ryan as he takes her hand and angrily leads her inside their home. As they confront each other once safely inside, it quickly becomes clear that their feelings for each other extend beyond familial. Even so, they can't act on it... can they?
